Phosphorescence is a fluid blend of dark hues and hints of glow create a mesmerising abstract representation of depth and light.

This artwork, Phosphorescence, was inspired by author, Julia Baird’s words and the luminous colours of her “Phosphorescence” book cover. Her book is an inspiring investigation into how we can find and nurture within ourselves that essential quality of internal happiness – the 'light within' – which will sustain us even through the darkest times

The painting began as a fluid acrylic pour before evolving through many additional layers of paint and texture, then finished with a professional gloss varnish that enhances its luminous depth.

For me, this painting is about the quiet light that sustains us through the dark. Not blazing, but steady. Not overwhelming, but life-giving. A phosphorescence we each carry within us—even when we can’t always see it.

Colours include ultramarine blue, iridescent copper, teal, phthalo green, fluorescent pink and pearlescent white.

Professionally varnished for protection and a lasting sheen. It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is ready to hang.
