Shedding Season

Shedding Season was created through multiple layered applications of flowing acrylic, building depth, texture and movement across the canvas. Sweeping blues and teals move like water or wind through a shifting landscape, evoking the energy of ocean currents and nature in motion.

Inspired by the closing of the Year of the Snake, the work speaks to release — letting go of what no longer fits so something new can emerge.

A subtle red slither weaves upward through the composition, snake-like in form, symbolising shedding, renewal and the wisdom carried forward into a new cycle. Scattered accents of warm gold and crimson flicker throughout, like falling leaves or embers, bringing warmth and vitality to the cooler tones.
